During the first three quarters of 2023, the Atende Group, with its leading company of Atende, delivered the best financial performance ever for such period, in terms of sales, operating profit, EBITDA, pre-tax and net profit. The solid performance was supported by good conditions in Atende’s most important sectors: mobile operators and power engineering.

In the third quarter of 2023, the Atende Group earned sales revenue of PLN 78.9 million, which represents a 96% increase y/y. The gross profit on sales amounted to PLN 17.8 million, up 97% y/y. The EBITDA was PLN 6.9 million compared to a loss of PLN (1.9 million) in previous year. In the period of three quarters of 2023, an increase in consolidated sales revenue by 57% y/y (PLN 224.7 million) resulted in a higher gross profit on sales (PLN 52.2 million, up 52%) and positive profit of PLN 12.8 million (vs. a loss of PLN 3.5 million in 2022). The EBITDA of PLN 20.8 million represents an increase by 447% y/y.

The strong performance of Atende SA can largely be attributed to the recent successful sales results in the ICT system integration segments driven by, among others, last year’s changes in the sales organisation and redesign of team workflows. The third quarter results improved by PLN 34.4 million, or 101% y/y. The margin on sales in integration also increased compared to that of the previous year (by PLN 10.8 million, or 95%).

Among the key contributors to the result was a contract signed in the first half of 2023 with a mobile operator for the implementation of Atende’s proprietary SMaCS (Service Management and Charging System) software for management of subscriber services in IP networks and billing the subscribers for their use of these services.

In the previous quarter, Atende completed the first phase of implementation and proceeded to the launch of the SMaCS’ production environment at the new client. In practice, it means that millions of subscribers will be migrated to the new system, which is fully prepared to deliver services in both 4G and 5G technologies. It is a great honour for us to be a part of this historic technological transformation for mobile operators as they are adapting their networks to provide innovative 5G services, said Marcin Petrykowski, CEO, Atende.

In line with its Atende Next 2022-2024 Strategy, the company is also taking active part in the transformation of the energy sector in Poland by providing clients with state-of-the-art solutions, ranging from IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, billing and CRM systems to proprietary smart metering systems for power grids and management of energy cooperatives. In the three quarters of 2023, revenue from clients in this sector was 163% higher year-on-year at PLN 41.0 million. The deployment of a LAN/WAN network for radio communications to be used by an energy operator was the biggest project in this segment. Another key and long-term project of the Atende Group in this area is the implementation of central CRM and billing systems at PGE Group companies by A2 Customer Care, expected to be completed in the first half of 2025.

Atende pays particular attention to services of permanent nature, with monthly billing, and increasing sales in this area is an important part of the company’s strategy. In this context, a newly won contract for ICT services awarded by an international client is particularly noteworthy. It will be the first managed services project of such big scale, implemented in as many as 40 countries. In addition, Atende successfully wins new clients for its innovative and proprietary Atende Security Suite, which includes threat monitoring, detection, prevention, and responding to cyber-threats.

We are closing the third quarter of this year with record quarterly and year-to-date results. At the same time, we have a promising outlook for the fourth quarter, which is always the strongest one for our company. The results of hard work of our team deserve particular appreciation, admiration and respect for each and every employee of our group for their extraordinary contribution to the transformation that we jointly initiated more than two years ago, concluded Marcin Petrykowski.
